RULES
Every roleplay needs its rules and these are ours. They all tend to be common sense, but it’s always better to have them written down for reference. Please make sure to read through them before you join. As soon as you’ve signed up, that shows us that you agree to all of these rules. Breaking the rules will lead to first, a warning, then a suspension, then a permanent ban. We are a fair board and treat everyone equally. We have the final say in how and what appears on the board, but we’re also not afraid to publicly apologize if we get anything wrong. If you’re unsure about anything, just ask us.

Joining
When you’ve read through all of our information and decide to be part of the circus, we would love you to join! Just remember:
• All members must be over 15.
• Make sure that you’ve read through all the rules and plot information first.
• Sign up with your character’s first and last name like this: John Smith.
• It would be helpful to check the member list to keep the different chosen names varied.
• If you make a mistake with the name you’ve joined with, or want to change it, ask the staff.
• Once you’ve joined, either contact the staff or start your application form within two days.
• Every character needs their own individual account.
Applying
Everyone needs to fill in a full application form for their characters, including the staff. No staff character will be allowed to go into play without being accepted by another member of staff, just to prove that we don’t play favourites! We also have two application forms for you to choose from. One is a basic application and the other is advanced. You can choose whichever one you feel more comfortable with.
• Applications must be completed within five days. If you have a personal issue, talk to the staff.
• If the form isn’t completed in five days and we don’t hear from you, we’ll automatically delete your account.
• We need the same amount of detail in both kinds of application form. The freestyle form isn’t a get-out-of-jail-free card.
• If we don’t think you’ve added enough detail, or have questions, we’ll post a reply to your application.
• For the face claim: faces must be of actors, musicians and models only.
• We don’t allow manga claims.
• Plagiarism is not tolerated.
• Don’t be offended if we ask you to change something. Message us and we’ll talk things through.
• If you have trouble with the coding, ask us! If you have sections written in Word, for example, we’ll happily add the information to the code for you!
• Application form images are <b>404x300px in size</b>. If you need help adjusting an image, ask!
Posting
When you roleplay, there are a few basic things that everyone needs to remember.
• All posts must be in past tense, third person perspective.
• No god-moding. You can’t control any character other than your own.
• No meta-gaming. You can’t use OOC knowledge in IC posts.
• We don’t have a strict word-count, but anything less than WORDCOUNT HERE words isn’t a post.
• Try to match your roleplaying partner’s word count.
• 400 word posts can be brilliant, and are always better than 1200 word posts that contain 1000 words describing a tent.
• Try not to keep your partner waiting too long for a reply.
• Everyone should be able to give at least two roleplaying posts a week, unless they’ve stated that they’re away for a while in our absences thread.
Playing
When you’re in character, there are a handful of specific things to keep in mind when you write.
• No character is insanely powerful. Everyone wins and loses fights. It’s much more interesting!
• No member of the board can get pregnant unless allowed by the staff.
• Character deaths must be authorized by staff.
• Some characters might be racist, sexist or homophobic. Just don’t over overboard.
• If there’s a sex scene, please add [M] to the name of your thread. Sex scenes shouldn’t equal pure porn or we’ll have to censor it.
• There may be times where swearing, violence, drugs or sex is involved. It’s not real. If you’re uncomfortable with the tone of a thread, please don’t read it.
How to Use Graphics
Everybody likes to pretty things up, and we always love seeing different players’ sets!
• Avatars can be up to SIZE HERE.
• Signatures can be up to SIZE HERE.
• If you’re using a graphic made by someone else, credit them.
• Graphic plagiarism will not be tolerated.
Chatting
Out of character, the golden rule is to treat others how you would like to be treated. Manners cost nothing. Sometimes it’s hard to see sarcasm and jokes when they’re typed, so think about what you say and remember other peoples’ feelings.
• Be respectful to everyone equally.
• Characters may be racist, sexist or homophobic, but we don’t allow that here in the C-box as we’re decent human beings.
• The cbox is for chatting, not for spam.
• Try not to swear too often.
• Bullying is never tolerated.
• If you feel like you’re being bullied, talk to the staff. We’re here to resolve issues and protect members.
How to Advertise and Affiliate
We advertise and affiliate and believe that guests should be able to do so here freely. These are pretty much everyone’s rules, but they’re here for reference.
• Guests can advertise and affiliate in the guest-friendly advertising forum.
• Don’t advertise in the cbox.
• If we have to sign up to your site to advertise, we don’t allow your advert.
• If we have to fill out a form to advertise back on your forum, we’ll delete your advert.
• No porn or extremist sites can be advertised on our board.
-----
There might be a fair amount here, but we have rules to protect everyone on the board! If we’ve missed something and you think that someone has broken the rules, please contact a member of staff. Everything that you send us will be completely confidential, so never worry!
